Phillip is an award-winning writer/director by way of acting based in Los Angeles. A London native, Phillip's Father, was a Ugandan-born Punjabi Muslim, and his mother was a French Catholic. Phillip became a world traveler early due to his parents' careers, which allowed the family to visit countries worldwide. That early exposure to other ways of life nurtured a fascinating cultural mix that strongly informed Phillip's aesthetic and sensibility. He brings a fresh multicultural sensibility and viewpoint to his storytelling. His visual style is bold yet simple, focusing on performance, truth, and character.

Phillip most recently directed the American hit medical drama THE GOOD DOCTOR for ABC and Hulu. His commercial and documentary credits include BAXTER OF CALIFORNIA (L’Oreal Group) “Life Lived True” campaign and the documentary shorts, THE ROCKY about an eccentric Hollywood apartment manager, and XIE, XIE, SHANGHAI, which examines the chaos and the cultural confusion of making the first US television show in China with Dennis Hopper.

Phillip’s extensive film and television acting credits include the notable series “24” (SAG nomination), DR. WHO, NIP/TUCK, BBC’s SURVIVORS, and SHAMELESS. Phillip has worked with impressive talent, including Steven Spielberg, Ryan Murphy, Howard Gordon, Bret Easton Ellis, Irvine Welsh, Kevin Williamson, and Al Pacino. Upcoming projects include FX’s THE FULL MONTY. The original film's cast and Academy Award-winning screenwriter, Simon Beaufoy (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE), is reuniting for the limited series.

Along with being an alumnus of the Sundance Institute and Disney TV Director Program, Phillip has shadowed numerous shows, including THE ROOKIE (ABC) and THE SINNER (USA). Additionally, Phillip directed GETAWAY CAR, a short for the Disney Television Talent Showcase; he has co-written three feature scripts and is currently putting together the feature THE SCARECROW, based on his Award-winning short.

Chaudhary is an active member of SAG, BAFTA, and the DGA. He mentors students and serves on the advisory board for BAFTA’s Inner City Shakespeare. He is currently a Protégé with the DGA DDI Mentorship Program.
